Job Summary


We are seeking a Manager for our Customer Intelligence team within RMS Sales to be based remotely in the U.S.


Manage a team of Client Development Representatives (CDRs) and Inside Sales (IS) staff. This role is crucial in driving revenue, optimizing sales campaigns, and fostering strong internal and external relationships. The manager will be responsible for the day-to-day operations of the Client Intelligence Team.  Assist with problem resolution and coach team members. The ideal candidate is a proactive leader with a passion for data-driven strategy, and cross-functional collaboration.


Key Responsibilities

 

Team Leadership & Coaching

  • Manage and coach a high-performing team of CDRs and IS team members. Provide one-on-one coaching focused on career development, skills enhancement, and goal setting. Nurture a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.
  • Develop and achieve KPIs and team strategy.
  • Advocate for the CDR and IS team, celebrating accomplishments and driving visibility across the organization.
  • Responsible for personnel management activities like scheduling, personnel actions (hiring, promotions, transfers, etc.), training and development, providing regular direction and feedback on performance, disciplinary actions and preparing and delivering annual performance and salary reviews. 
  • Recommend and implement short-range operating objectives, organizational structure, staffing requirements and succession plans.
  • Support the policy of equal employment opportunity through affirmative action in personnel actions.

 

Sales Strategy & Execution

  • Develop and execute innovative sales campaigns that align with RMS sales team objectives.
  • Analyze customer and campaign data to inform strategy and maximize revenue impact.
  • Identify new market opportunities and lead generation tactics to support pipeline growth.
  • Partner closely with the sales team to align on goals and share insights


Client Relationship Management

 

  • Maintain and grow relationships with partnered accounts through consistent engagement and value delivery.
  • Set standard and coach team on qualifying leads appropriately for passage to Charles River's Sales team or other teams for further nurturing. Log all interactions into the sales database system and determine which leads need immediate attention by Sales.


Process Optimization & Software Testing

 

  • Participate in software and tool testing to drive efficiency in lead generation processes.
  • Recommend and implement improvements in workflows, tools, and strategies.

Job Qualifications

•    Education:  Bachelor's degree (B.A. /B.S.) or equivalent in technically related field (e.g. Biology) or related discipline.
•    Experience: 3+ years of experience in sales, business development, or client success management.
•    Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
•    Analytical mindset with experience leveraging data to drive actions.
•    Familiarity with CRM systems and sales enablement tools.
•    An equivalent combination of education and experience may be accepted as a satisfactory substitute for the specific education and experience listed above. 7+ years experience of managing a team in lieu of degree. 
 

Compensation Data

The pay range for this position is $120K - 140K USD annually. Please note that salaries vary within the range based on factors including, but not limited to, experience, skills, education, certifications, and location.
