This role owns marketing for services programs and offerings only (not research models), including: model breeding; colony management; embryology services; in vivo research services; in vivo space solutions; vivarium facility staff and consulting services; and animal health surveillance, genetic integrity, and materials testing services.
Working with the RMS Marketing Director and cross-functional stakeholders (Commercial, Scientific/Operational teams, and Marketing Operations), the AMD ensures RMS Services marketing programs are aligned to business priorities, optimized through analytics, and executed through a high-performing team to deliver measurable pipeline outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic & Portfolio Leadership
• Work with the RMS Director and key stakeholders to develop the global marketing strategy and priorities for RMS Services (heavy initial focus in North America and Europe).
• Lead service-level segmentation, ideal customer profile development, personas, and customer journey mapping.
• Own value proposition and messaging framework development across RMS Services; ensure clarity, differentiation, and scientific credibility.
• Maintain global consistency in narrative while enabling regional relevance and execution.
• Act as the senior marketing voice for RMS Services in cross-functional planning discussions.
• Planning cadence: Own monthly and quarterly metric tracking, performance readouts, and optimization actions; contribute to annual reporting and strategic summaries for leadership.
Demand Generation & Pipeline Ownership (Primary Focus)
• Own RMS Services demand generation strategy and execution to drive pipeline health, lead flow, and conversion across digital and field channels.
• Establish and manage the marketing flow/lifecycle architecture (lead stages, nurture journeys, scoring/qualification logic in partnership with Commercial and Marketing Ops, handoff points, and re-engagement loops).
• Design integrated, multi-channel programs aligned to the buyer journey (awareness → consideration → conversion → expansion), optimized by segment and region.
• Partner with Business Development to align marketing programs with account priorities, territory needs, and opportunity progression.
• Improve demand efficiency by systematically testing/optimizing channel mix, content paths, and conversion points to increase velocity and quality.
Campaign Planning & Execution Oversight
• Provide strategic direction and prioritization for the team executing integrated campaigns across web, email, digital channels, events, and field programs.
• Ensure campaigns connect to clear positioning, have measurable funnel goals, and support opportunity progression and pipeline acceleration.
• Oversee campaign calendars, dependencies, and stakeholder alignment to ensure efficient global execution with regional relevance.
• Support global and regional event participation as part of the demand engine (pre-event targeting, on-site engagement strategy, and post-event nurture flows).
Key Responsibilities Continued
Sales Enablement & Collaboration
• Guide the development of sales enablement tools through the marketing team (presentations, case studies, service sheets, differentiation tools, decision guides).
• Ensure enablement content supports BD effectiveness across regions and service lines and aligns with evolving competitive dynamics.
• Create feedback loops with BD to incorporate field insights into targeting, messaging, nurture content, and conversion tactics.
Measurement & Reporting (Decision-Driving Analytics Ownership)
• Own RMS Services marketing analytics, KPI definitions, and dashboards; turn performance data into actions that improve pipeline health.
• Track performance across lifecycle stages: engagement, lead volume/quality, conversion, velocity, and pipeline contribution.
• Establish a consistent rhythm of reporting: monthly performance and channel optimization review; quarterly business review (QBR) inputs and recommendations; and annual reporting contribution and strategic insights.
• Lead market and competitive insight synthesis (trends, win/loss themes, segment performance signals) to guide program priorities.
• Provide forecast inputs and pipeline modeling to support financial planning (e.g., expected pipeline contribution by channel/program, conversion assumptions, and scenario planning) in partnership with Commercial and Finance.
• Develop and maintain market and competitor intelligence reporting outputs (e.g., competitor snapshots, positioning changes, emerging threats/whitespace, win/loss themes) and ensure insights are tied to campaign differentiation and pipeline performance decisions.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
• Partner with Marketing Operations (content, creative, web, analytics) to deliver consistent, scalable execution and measurement.
• Collaborate with Scientific/Operational leaders to validate technical accuracy and align programs to service realities and differentiators.
• Align with regional and market development stakeholders to localize or tailor global programs to regional opportunities and constraints.
• Serve as the connecting point between commercial, operational, and marketing execution teams—ensuring clarity, responsiveness, and momentum.
Job Qualifications
• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, Life Sciences, or related field (MBA a plus).
• Experience: 8+ years of progressive commercial marketing experience in life sciences/ CRO / biotech or pharma services environments.
• Strong preference for experience in commercial marketing for RMS-relevant services: research rodent breeding, colony management, embryology, in vivo research services, vivarium services/consulting, and animal health surveillance/genetic integrity/materials diagnostic testing.
• Demonstrated experience owning demand generation and lifecycle nurturing with measurable pipeline outcomes.
