Job Summary

 

We are seeking a Facilities Director for our Safety Assessment site located Reno, Nevada.

 

The following are responsibilities related to the Facilities Director:

 

Responsible for managing and directing facilities, security, and other functions that may vary by site. Principal responsibilities include the oversight of strategic infrastructure planning, construction, renovation, maintenance, facility services and engineering, security, life safety and capital and expense budget performance, including identification and execution of operating efficiencies and cost savings strategies for utilities, hazardous waste, garbage and water.     

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:  

•    Oversee the ongoing maintenance and repair of the facility.
•    Develop and direct implementation of space utilization plans.
•    Key contributor to planning and design of facility expansion and renovation.
•    Direct the installation, removal and repair of facility related equipment.
•    Develop annual capital and operating plans.
•    Execute facility-related capital projects on time and on budget.
•    Interface with corporate security leadership and coordinate delivery of company-wide security initiatives.
•    Contract with and direct all outside contractor services. Ensure conformance to standards and specifications, including project costs and construction schedules.
•    Develop, control and implement facility capital and operating expense plans, including facility utility schedules. Accountable for facility expense performance.
•    Responsible for sound operation and maintenance of facility Mechanical Electrical Plumbing (MEP) systems inclusive of implementation and continued operation of validated Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) maintenance system.
•    Direct the planning, response and recovery operations for emergency situations and disaster recovery and coordinate the development and implementation of associated response plans. 
•    Build and manage a staff which works in a highly team-based, cross-functional and results-oriented fashion.
•    At some sites, may also manage shipping, receiving, laundry and other functions that relate to facilities operations.
•    Develop short- and long-range operating objectives, organizational structure, and staffing requirements.  Oversee the development of a departmental plan for backup and succession of key departmental personnel.
•    Develop and recommend departmental budget.  Authorize expenditures in accordance with budget.  Approve budget and expenses of subordinates.

 

Job Qualifications

 

•    Education:  Bachelor's degree (B.A./B.S.) or equivalent in engineering, engineering science or related discipline. Master's degree (M.S./M.B.A.) preferred.
•    Experience: 10+ years experience in project administration, purchasing, contracting and facilities management. 8+ years previous supervisory experience.
•    Certification/Licensure:  PE/engineering license preferred. CPE or CEM certificate a plus.
•    Other:  Prior industry experience inclusive of large scale capital projects and facility management of controlled environments, GLP and AAALAC. Knowledge and application of environmental, health and safety regulations and familiarity with EH&S regulatory agencies' protocols. Industrial hygiene skills are preferred.

 

“The pay range for this position is $145,000 - $165,000 annually. Please note that salaries vary within the range based on factors including, but not limited to, experience, skills, education, certifications, and location.”
