Job Summary

  • Own and deliver sales and service revenue targets for Charles River Microbial Solutions India.
  • Lead and oversee commercial and client-facing operations across India and neighboring countries (Sri Lanka, Nepal, Bangladesh, Myanmar, Bhutan, and Pakistan).
  • Define and align sales, field service, and technical service strategies with key stakeholders to drive revenue growth and customer retention.
  • Supervise, coach, and optimize sales team deployment and performance across the region.
  • Ensure timely and effective resolution of customer issues through a strong customer-centric approach, working closely with cross-functional teams.
  • To drive high customer satisfaction, business growth, safety initiatives and regulatory compliance.

Responsibilities

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • Provide annual forecasting and perform a  regular review for the region as well as each individual sales territory.
  • Develop sales, pricing and distribution strategies, identify and capitalize on market opportunities, adjust strategies to reflect changing conditions.
  • Prepare and implement a comprehensive all India  sales management plan to indicate target opportunities, potential new accounts, expansion of existing accounts and an analysis of competitor accounts.
  • Develop major and established customer accounts through customer service and production and support activities, to achieve upselling of products and use of products and services across the MS brands.
  • Attain revenue and objectives, and where possible increase revenue, in the assigned territory and or accounts. 
  • Participate in regular co-travel with sales team, to provide coaching and feedback.
  • Ensure that specialists in the region are utilized in an efficient and effective manner
  • Initiate arrangement requests required for participation in trade or other convention programs. 
  • Implements follow up and needs assessment for sales training
  • Establish and maintain sales training program for current employees and new hires within the region.
  • Manage activities of assigned group(s) to ensure optimum performance of the group/function.
  • Responsible for personnel management activities such as: scheduling, personnel actions (hiring, promotions, transfers, etc.), training and development, providing regular direction and feedback on performance, disciplinary actions and preparing and delivering annual performance and salary reviews.
  • Assist in the development of short- and long-range operating objectives, organizational structure, staffing requirements and succession plans.
  • Assist in the development and recommendation of departmental budget and authorize expenditures.
  • Develop and oversee the implementation of departmental training programs, including orientation.

  • Ensure adherence to pertinent regulatory requirements and to departmental policies, practices and procedures [SOPs, safety procedures etc].
  • Perform all other related duties as assigned.
  • Ensuring compliance to Business Code of Conduct and Ethics. Ensure compliance with all Company, Country, local, state, and federal regulations.
  • Ensure adherence to data privacy regulations within the Company and Corporate Global Data Privacy framework

  • Perform all other related duties as assigned by the direct manager.

Job Qualifications

The following are minimum qualifications related to the National Field Technical Service Manager, MS India position:

  • Education:  Bachelor’s degree (B.S. / B.A) or  equivalent in life science . Master’s degree preferred. A second Business Administration qualification or Management certification would be an advantage.
  • Experience:  Minimum 10 to 15 years relevant industry experience, with at least 5 of those years having direct client interface and team management .
  • Excellent interpersonal, customer relationship and leadership skills with experience working in a matrix organization.
  • This position requires frequent domestic and international travel.
  • Must be able to prioritize workload and manage multiple competing deadlines.
