Job Summary
An Occupational Health Nurse is responsible for emergent/non-emergent medical procedures and triage within certification/licensure; respiratory fit testing, recordkeeping, and injury prevention.
Position will work 3 days per week (benefit eligible), from 7:30am - 3:30pm on-site at the Mattawan, MI Charles River Site.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Performs and reviews medical and respiratory assessments.
- Performs other medical procedures allowed under standing orders.
- Assists in all medical emergencies.
- Assists in preparation of departmental reports.
- Manage OSHA Logs
- Support for Return to work, Restricted work
- Maintain and safeguard confidentiality of employee health and workers compensation records, Understanding of HIPAA
- Maintain records of incidents, injuries, first aids and near misses (KPI’s)
- Attend departmental meetings, safety meetings
Job Qualifications
- Education/Experience:
- Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) and 1-2 years of relevant experience;
- or, Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) and 3 or more years of relevant experience;
- or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA)
- or Medical Assistant (MA) and 5 or more years of relevant experience.
- Must be licensed in the state of Michigan. Experience in Care/Case management
- An equivalent combination of education and experience may be accepted as a satisfactory substitute for the specific education and experience listed above.
- Ability to communicate verbally and in writing at all levels inside and outside the organization.
- Ability to make critical health decisions in emergency situations and daily decisions regarding employee health
- Computer skills, commensurate with Essential Functions, including the ability to learn a validated system. Basic familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to work extended hours beyond normal work schedule to include, but not limited to evenings, weekends, extended shifts, and/or extra shifts, sometimes on short notice.
- Ability to work under specific time constraints.
- Working knowledge of Michigan Workers Comp Law
- Understanding of OSHA standards as they apply to work related care and injuries, Including Bloodborne Pathogens, Hearing Conservation, PPE, Respiratory Protection
- CPR Certification
Compensation Data
The pay range for this position is $43.50/hr - 48.00/hr USD annually. Please note that salaries vary within the range based on factors including, but not limited to, experience, skills, education, certifications, and location.
