Due to our continuing growth, we have exciting opportunities for talented, highly motivated (Senior) Research Technicians at our state-of-the-art drug discovery site in Leiden, the Netherlands.
 
The (Senior) Research Technician is a laboratory-based role to support the development of cell-based assays and readouts to identify novel candidate drugs and/or therapeutic targets for our clients. In particular, you will be part of a team that is developing and applying models for screening in complex cell-based assays. Technologies that are commonly used at our site are (stem) cell culture, molecular biology, high content imaging, qPCR/ddPCR, immune assays (MSD, ELISA, Luminex etc.), automated liquid handling/robotics and many more. All this is done in a team-oriented, result-driven, international research environment that provides many development opportunities and an excellent career opportunity for an enthusiastic and motivated individual.
 


Job Responsibilities:

  • Provide specialized technical laboratory support in activities such as assay development and compound profiling.
  • Generate and interrogate biological data generated for the project together with other scientific members of the project team.
  • Establish an understanding of the relevance of the data being generated on the project.
  • Internally present own work confidently, with clear rationale and produce slides regarding own work.
  • Complete lab book to departmental and patent-acceptable quality standards.
  • Contribute to introduction and protocol development for new technologies relevant for the business.
  • Project purchases and general running of the labs.

 

Depending on your experience your function may be Research Technician or Senior Research Technician. The job responsibilities and job requirements may differ accordingly.

What do we expect:

  • B.Sc (or M.Sc.) with at least 2 years working experience in a relevant environment.
  • Lab experience in cell-based assay development, including molecular biology and compound profiling.
  • Good oral and written communication skills in English.


Skills and competences that could make a difference:

  • Affinity with complex in-vitro biology, such as stem cells and/or 3D/organoid cultures.
  • Experience in a CRO or Pharma Environment.
  • Affinity with robotics and high throughput screening.
  • Team-oriented and result-driven attitude
