Job Overview

 

As a Research Associate for our Histology team located in Laval, you will mainly be responsible to support and encourage the technical staff during the studies preparation. Your success will ensure the smooth running of our research, as well as the integrity of our pre-clinical studies.

 

 

In this role, primary responsibilities include: 

 

  • Perform the study preparation (initial revision of the study plan, worksheets, diagrams, special procedures, etc.) as well as the follow-up of updates of studies (amendments);
  • Perform the quality control;
  • Review the raw data and the technical activities, answer the quality assurance reports.
  • Interacts closely with the Training Specialist to ensure adequate training of technical staff, to ensure sufficient staff is trained to meet the studies requirements;
  • Identify problems or potential problems and assist the appropriate personnel in establishing and implementing the appropriate solutions;
  • Ensure the integrity of the studies and fulfill the regulatory agencies requirements by performing the activities according to the Good Laboratory Practices (GLP), Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) and the Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee (IACUC) rules.

 

 

We are looking for the following minimum qualifications for this role: 

 

  • Collegial diploma in Biology, Animal Science or any other related discipline;
  • At least 3 years of working experience in Histopathology (Histology, Necropsy, etc);
  • Demonstrate positive leadership;
  • Ability to work under time constraints and adapt to change;
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.

 

 

Role Specific Information: 

 

  • Location: 445 Boul. Armand-Frappier, Laval, QC, H7V 4B3;
  • Transportation: Free parking. Near the Montmorency Subway. Electric vehicle charging station;
  • Annual bonus based on performance plan;
  • Salary: Starting at $28.00/hr;
  • Schedule: Flexible schedule, depending on the needs you must be available to work during days, evening, weekends, and holidays. Regular working hours are 8 am to 4:15 pm but may be subject to change depending on current studies.
  • Permanent position as of the hiring, full-time 37.5hrs per week.
