Our expanding team in Harlow are recruiting for a Scientist in the Pharmaceutical Development group. You’ll be tasked to work on a variety of integrated drug discovery projects through the application of practical scientific knowledge to execute different lab-based techniques.

 

Tasks will include:

 

Analyse and interpret own scientific data, contributing to reports and presentations.
Application of scientific and technical principles, theories, concepts and techniques.
Identify anomalies and deviations from standard procedure.
Interrogate own data for validity. 
Prepare accurate slides for client meetings and draft reports. 
Trouble shoot equipment and processes within area of expertise.
With supervision, complete assigned tasks within the lab setting as set out by management. 
Able to communicate effectively across peers, embodying the Charles River Values daily, and acting as a role model to Associate Scientists and Technicians 
Confidently present own work, understanding the data collected and able to relay scientific information to internal stakeholders such as Project Leaders or Directors as requested. 
Adhere to all EHS standards when onsite, ensuring best practice and always operates in a safe manner. Able to recognise and report any EHS incidents or issues to management. 
Awareness of strategic goals for their respective department with understanding of what they mean to the wider Discovery business. 
Attend (where possible and necessary) divisional meetings and company All Hands meetings to know what is happening in the wider business and how this affects your role. 
Complete all assigned lab-based duties with minimal/no supervision with responsibility in presenting results and data to both internal and external stakeholders and clients. 
Liaise with Senior Scientific staff and management in identifying and resolving any technical issues encountered in the lab. 
Able to schedule own workload as needed, in line with project requirements and sign off from Project Leader 
Contribute and participate in Continuous Improvement projects, offering possible suggestion to any problems.
