To strengthen our crop metabolism and fields residue team we ar currently we are hiring to the position of:

 

Field Trial Manager (Agriculture), The Netherlands

's-Hertogenbosch (Den Bosch), Province of North Brabant.

 

General tasks:

  • Coordinate and conduct research projects involving agricultural field trials (pesticide evaluation).
  • Act as Study Director/Principal Investigator on specific GLP projects, as appropriate.
  • With the benefit of being located at a major Charles River facility, drive the local business interests of the Field Trials Group. This is a pan-European operation managed and supported from the UK with sites across the EU and UK.
  • Be actively engaged in maintaining Good Laboratory Practice (GLP) accreditation of our business.
  • Purchase local supplies and equipment as required in order to maintain a fully functioning and adequately equipped field base. 

 

Job specific requirements:

  • Sense of ownership, being responsible for the quality of the work and raw data produced.
  • Ensure and follow sound scientific methods and proper control procedures. 
  • Responsible for ensuring that his/her work is conducted in accordance with appropriate Standard Operating Procedures and the principles of Good Laboratory Practice.
  • Responsible for ensuring that a safe working environment is maintained for him or herself and his/her colleagues by observing all safety procedures and working methods, by making proper use of protective clothing and equipment and by reading, understanding and following all safety documents issued or notified to him.
  • Responsible for reporting immediately to the Associate Director any anomalous observations and equipment malfunction not immediately correctable, any data integrity issues, or any factor which will in any way impede the normal scheduling of any Charles River study.
  • Responsible for ensuring that any experiments with agrochemical test items comply with the appropriate regulations or guidelines.

 

Requirements:

  • Agricultural degree or similar
  • Agronomy / crop protection expertise
  • Experience in agricultural field trials and working with the farming community
  • Proactive and well organized
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal in Dutch and English
  • Knowledge of GLP principles and experienced in their implementation
  • Team player, able to work in matrix organization
  • Record keeping, data management and reporting expertise
  • Proficient in working to exact project specifications
  • Communication skills, ensuring information is regularly shared with colleagues and management
  • Computer skills (data management)
  • Driving license and ability to travel in The Netherlands and Central Europe
  • Welcome opportunities to occasionally visit and be trained at other European Charles River facilities
