Job Summary
Responsible for developing technical information for Celsis and Microbial Solutions products by performing onboarding and feasibility studies for regulated products utilizing various technology platforms. Performs microbiological testing in support of laboratory functions, such as growth promotion and trial studies. Writes reports for feasibility and claim support studies. Assist with daily tasks of maintaining supply materials, laboratory maintenance activities and ordering supplies. Receives customer samples and disposes of microbial cultures according to current SOPs.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide technical support for internal and external Celsis customers through bacteriologic analysis utilizing varying instrument platforms and laboratory testing procedures; samples can include consumer products, pharmaceuticals drugs, or cell cultures
- Independently perform microbiological test methods including bioburden, sterility, and microbial limits tests based on defined customer criteria
- Comply with SOPs, SDS sheets, and laboratory procedures to ensure the integrity of our data
- Maintain records compliance by adhering to regulatory guidelines set forth by the company and varying agencies
- Process, receive, unpack, log, customer samples according to current SOPs
- Dispose of microbe cultures, chemicals and glass in designated waste containers
- Perform all other related duties as assigned
Job Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s Degree in a Biological Sciences discipline with at least some coursework directly related to Microbiology
- Experience: 0-2 years industrial related microbiological experience
- Must be comfortable working collaboratively or individually
- High standards for integrity and quality of work performed An equivalent combination of education and experience may be accepted as a satisfactory substitute for the specific education and experience listed above
Skills and Abilities:
List key hard and soft skills for the role such as organizational skills, proficient with various softwares, interpersonal skills, etc.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Regularly uses pipettes, colony counter and microscope; requires color vision, close vision
and the ability to adjust focus.
Must be able to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) according to OSHA regulations and company standards.
Regularly works in a stationary position; occasionally moves about the lab/office to access supplies and equipment.
Should be physically able to stand, walk, bend, and use both hands.
Frequently communicates with other employees/customers and must be able to exchange accurate information verbally and in written form.
Regularly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a calculator, copy machine, and computer printer.
Occasionally must lift or otherwise move/position objects weighing up to 40 pounds.
Regularly provides information to and receives information from/through various technologies, media, sources and contacts. Must be able to accurately exchange accurate information in these situations.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Works in a lab environment. May work with sharp objects, near toxic or caustic chemicals, microbial cultures with biohazards, may be exposed to fumes or airborne particles, unpleasant odors and may be exposed to risk of radiation.
The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet to moderate.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly wears protective clothing and equipment (lab coat, safety glasses and face mask) when exposed to the laboratory area.
Compensation Data
The pay range for this position is $21 to $22 Please note that salaries vary within the range based on factors including, but not limited to, experience, skills, education, and location.
