Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Electronic Technician, for our Microbial Solutions site located in Charleston, SC.
The Electronic Technician’s primary role is testing, troubleshooting, repairing, performing preventative maintenance, and calibrating Microbial Solutions instruments. The Electronic Technician must be able to troubleshoot to the component level. Support of our Field Technicians and production staff is included in this position. They must be able to operate test equipment including DVM’s, oscilloscopes, and soldering irons. All associated paperwork as required by cGMP and FDA, along with updates to our database are also part of the responsibilities. We are seeking a motivated individual with good communication skills and attention to detail. Your ability to handle these tasks in a timely manner will be a major part of meeting the service needs of our customers.
The following are the job duties & responsibilities related to the Electronic Technician:
- Administer test, trouble shoot and repair electronics to the component level.
- Understand and read schematics.
- Mechanically assembly and disassemble new and existing equipment
- Perform and operate on test equipment and solder equipment when needed.
- Create, develop and continuously improve SOP’s pertaining to the PTS and MCS machines.
- Able to analyze situations and apply own judgment when accessing mechanical problems, independently.
- Coordinate scheduling and support department personnel in the absence of the PTS Engineer.
- Responsible for proficiency in all SOPs in areas of responsibility.
- Responsible for documentation as required by company policy, cGMP and FDA.
- Support and serve as second back-up to Technical Services by loading software, calibration of new equipment and ensuring proper packaging of new equipment.
- Perform and assess data entry in software program in order to track machine repairs.
- Interpret past repairs on PTS and MCS machines, historically, in order to resolve and diagnosis new machine issues.
- Perform all other related duties as assigned.
Job Qualifications
The following are minimum requirements related to the Electronic Technician position.
- Education: Associates Degree(A.S) in Electronic Engineering Technology, or related discipline
- Experience: 0-1 years related experience in a regulated environment.
- Computer literacy with Windows Office Suite programs including data entry and tracking.
- An equivalent combination of education and experience may be accepted as a satisfactory substitute for the specific education and experience listed above.
The pay range for this position is $25.00 per hour. Please note that salaries vary within the range based on factors including, but not limited to, experience, skills, education, certifications, and location.
