Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Cagewash and Animal Care Supervisor to join our Insourcing Solutions team, located in Cambridge, MA. 

 

As the Supervisor, you will provide leadership and oversight of Central Services and Animal Care Technicians and operations to maintain performance levels consistent with, and according to, company standards.  

Additional responsibilities include: 

  • Ensure direct reports receive facility orientation and on-the-job training. 
  • Conduct routine inspections of cagewash facilities, equipment, coordinate preventive maintenance of said equipment, and ensure materials are available.  
  • Maintain effective and efficient cagewash and animal care operations through staff oversight, training and development. 
  • Inspect that animal facility support, sanitation levels, environmental parameters, and security procedures are being met.  
  • Maintain required attendance levels and adherence to work schedule in accordance with required staffing levels to ensure completion of assigned duties. 
  • Participate in the development of SOP’s, and ensure they are adhered to.  
  • Oversee record maintenance and generate and submit reports in a timely manner. 
  • Maintain a cooperative relationship with the client operations, facilities, and research support staff. 
  • Continuously support vivarium management in maintaining compliance with all internal (IACUC) and external (USDA-APHIS, PHS-OLAW) regulatory agencies as well as AAALAC internal accreditation.

Job Qualifications

The following are minimum requirements related to the Supervisor position: 

  • High school diploma or GED.  Associates or 4-year degree, or a combination of experience along with higher education desirable but not required. 
  • Minimum of 2-5 years' experience in a lab animal facility. 
  • AALAS certification at the ALAT level required, LAT level encouraged, LATG preferred. 
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience may be accepted as a satisfactory substitute for the listed education/experience requirement.   

The pay range for this position is $90k-98k USD annually. Please note that salaries vary within the range based on factors including, but not limited to, experience, skills, education, certifications, and location.
