Project Coordination
The candidate is responsible for development and maintenance of a study in SAP from study award to study completion. This role involves working closely with Study Directors, Operations, Finance and PC groups across CRL to ensure accurate costings / financial information whilst adhering to SOX regulations. The candidate will work directly with corporate invoicing to ensure clients are invoiced appropriately.
The candidate will primarily support a site in Germany.
Main Tasks
Working in our Enterprise Resource Planning System, SAP
Reviewing contracts and acceptable documentation to build financial costs and study design in SAP
- Retention of necessary documentation and information to ensure SOX compliance
- Ensure accurate revenue recognition under US and local GAAP
- Support preparation of SOX controls at month end and any internal / external audits as required
Responsible for project coordination and maintenance of studies from award notification to archival of the study and closure in SAP
- Work with Study directors to ensure accurate milestone dates and project information is maintained through the lifetime of the project
- Run invoicing reports & liaise with sales ledger/ study directors on queries
- Work with purchasing and subcontractors to ensure accurate Purchase Orders are created
- Create Intercompany requisitions and purchase orders for any cross company working
- Coordinate, update, and maintain all change order activity in SAP based on protocol revisions and amendments
- Complete QC checks to ensure accuracy of data
Analyse the project data to identify risks and opportunities that may impact the financial forecast
- Identify forecasting variances and obtain the reasons for the variances from operations
- Review the profitability of study types for the site
Contribute ideas on improvement of project administration processes and procedures as requested and support the implementation
Work independently with minimal supervision and proactively resolve routine issues
Key Required Skills And Education
- Master’s or bachelor’s degree in Finance (or other relevant administrative/finance/scientific education)
- Fluent in English
- Minimum of 1 year work experience in Finance / operations
- Excellent numeracy and literacy skills:
- Must be detail-oriented and have good verbal and written communication skills
- Must have intermediate computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office software
- Able to work on assignments that are semi-routine in nature in which ability to recognize deviation from accepted practice is required
- Able to multitask and work in a busy environment
- Working knowledge of SAP application and US GAAP desirable but not necessary
- Use of smartsheets will be required
