Job Summary
For our client located in Basel we are looking for a Animal Caretaker.
The resource will be included within the team operating in the structure and will be responsible for carrying out tasks relating to the management of the laboratory
- Care and maintenance expertise for laboratory rodents (mice and rats) in IVC systems.
- Ability to maintain IVC systems and changing stations, including changing pre-filters and setting up/decommissioning cage racks.
- Ability to independently clean and disinfect animal housing facilities and cage materials.
- Documentation of cage and animal data in dedicated database.
- Knowledge in assisting research groups with various tasks, such as weight collection, selection, marking, and euthanasia.
Long Description
- · Ability to support the veterinary service, including the administration of medication.
- · Adherence to hygiene concepts and animal welfare legislation.
- · Experience in animal deliveries and inter-building animal transfers.
- · Compliance with hygiene regulations and relevant Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- · Support for the RLT (radio ligand therapy) facility, working with radioactive compounds.
Job Qualifications
- Good communication and team working skills
- · Completed EFZ animal care apprenticeship or equivalent training; possession of LTK1 certificate required.
- · Language: good command of German (preferred) or English is mandatory.
- · Local candidates preferred
