Job Summary

Senior Accountant – Microbial Solutions (Bangalore): Summary

Responsible for handling end‑to‑end import and export accounting, including documentation, pricing checks, and coordination with customs agents and customers. The role involves accurate recording of import and local purchase transactions, managing GST compliance (monthly returns, liability computation, and reconciliations), and ensuring correct HSN classification for all products. The position requires strong knowledge of GST laws, customs procedures, and regulatory compliance.

Roles & Responsibilities

 

  • Manage end-to-end import and export operations, including documentation, pricing checks, and coordination with customs house agents (CHA) and customers for clearing the shipments
  • Record purchase transactions (import and local) accurately in the system
  • Calculate and file monthly GST returns, including liability computation
  • Perform GST reconciliations (sales, purchases, and input tax credit) with the GST portal
  • Ensure correct HSN code classification and compliance for all products
  • Assist in statutory audits and internal audits by providing required data and support
  • Support preparation of financial statements (IGAAP) and audit schedules
  • Handle monthly inventory reconciliation
  • Compute product landing costs
  • Handle GST and customs notices/litigations co-ordinating with consultants
  • Verify vouchers, invoices, and payments for accuracy and proper documentation
  • Prepare and post journal entries and maintain accounting records
  • Perform account reconciliations (monthly, quarterly, annual)
  • Prepare financial reports
  • Ensure compliance with internal controls and financial policies
  • Maintain confidentiality of financial information
  • Generate service invoices
  • Support team members and contribute to overall finance operations
  • Perform all other related duties as assigned



Job Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Commerce (B.Com/M.Com)
  • 5–7 years of relevant accounting experience
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles and standards
  • Familiarity with Indian taxation (GST, TDS)
  • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Tally, SAP, Zoho Books)
