Job Summary
We are seeking an Associate Director – Bioanalytics to join our onsite team in Ballina, Co. Mayo. Reporting to the Director of Operations, this leader will oversee our Biosafety/CBA and Analytical Departments, guiding a team of 5 direct reports and a broader team of 75 across key QC, biosafety, and analytical functions.
You will drive operational excellence, support business and client growth, champion digital and system enhancements, and develop a high‑performing, collaborative team. What You'll be doing
- Lead QC Teams who perform routine product release and stability testing, including compendial, chromatography, immunological, potency, virological safety and molecular methods.
- Oversee the team that conducts method transfer for multiple clients in addition to method qualification/validation/verification activities.
- With senior leadership, develop strategies for business, client base and product modality growth.
- Monitor, trend and take action on team performance in regard to various KPIs/metrics (e.g. on time reporting, right first time, revenue, OI, etc).
- Manage finances for the testing departments and headcount to maintain require OI targets.
- Work closely with support departments to drive transition towards digital, AI, system enhancements so as to optimise efficiencies.
Qualifications and Competencies
- Minimum MSc in scientific discipline.
- 3-5 years’ experience running a successful, dynamic business preferably CRO.
- Management of P&L would be an advantage.
- Extensive people leading skills and experience managing multi-cultural teams with the ability to mentor and coach teams to facilitate career growth.
- GMP and EHS&S experience essential.
- Business optimisation/operational excellence experience/qualifications would be an advantage.
