Job Summary
We are seeking a meticulous and proactive RMS (Research & Model Services) Summer 2026 Intern to drive standardization efforts within our humanized model and foundation colony operations. This role is crucial for developing foundational operational procedures, enhancing training, and ensuring seamless knowledge transfer to support our cutting-edge research programs.
This role is ideal for a self-starter who thrives in a fast-paced environment, has strong communication skills, and is passionate about helping customers advance their scientific goals.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Workflow Auditing & Documentation: Systematically audit existing husbandry and experimental workflows for humanized models and foundation colonies.
• SOP & Training Development: Draft and refine Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and training manuals to standardize protocols.
• Resource Hub Creation: Develop structured onboarding checklists and a centralized digital resource hub for new staff and leadership.
• Knowledge Management: Facilitate knowledge transfer to ensure continuity of specialized information.
• Regulatory Compliance: Assist in aligning operational documentation with OLAW and AAALAC standards to ensure inspection readiness.

• Perform all other related duties as assigned.
Job Qualifications
• Education: Currently pursuing a degree in Biology, Laboratory Animal Science, Operations Management, or a related field.
• Communication: Exceptional technical writing and verbal communication skills; ability to simplify complex tasks into step-by-step instructions.
• Technical Proficiency: Advanced skills in Microsoft Office 365 (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and interest in digital knowledge management tools (SharePoint, Confluence, or similar).
• Soft Skills: Strong organizational skills with a high degree of attention to detail. Capable of working independently in a hybrid environment while meeting strict deadlines.
• Experience (Plus): Prior exposure to animal husbandry, contract research (CRO), or pharmaceutical settings is highly desirable but not required.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
• Must regularly operate a computer and occasionally operate other office productivity machinery such as a calculator, copy machine, and computer printer.
• Must regularly communicate with employees/customers; must be able to exchange accurate information verbally (in person and on the phone) and in writing.
• Must occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
This is a Hybrid role. The candidate must have a suitable remote workspace and the ability to travel to the Hollister site as scheduled.
The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $20.00 per hour. Please note that salaries vary within the range based on factors including, but not limited to, experience, skills, education, certifications, and location.
