Job Overview

 

We are seeking a full-time, Handy Person/Driver for our Safety Assessment site located in Tranent, EH33 2NE, Edinburgh.

 

This is a full-time position (36.25 hours per week) there regular overtime available also. The shift pattern is Monday to Friday 9:00-17:00 with occasional holiday/sickness cover for other business area beginning at 05:30 -13:00.

 

The salary for the role is £24,050.50 per annum, paid monthly as well as employee benefits like private healthcare, Bonus, Pension, Free Gym on site, Subsidised Cafeteria and others. 

Responsibilities and Qualifications

 

The following are responsibilities related to the Handy Person/Driver

  • Routine maintenance of site buildings fabric, including minor joinery and plumbing work and   janitorial duties.
  • Competent use of a variety of hand tools, both manual and electric.
  • General maintenance of the site including painting, drain clearing and roof leak repairs.
  • Janitorial tasks including Site tidying, clearing and gritting of roadways and paths, clearing litter and emptying of site waste bins.
  • Driving company vehicles Including a counterbalance forklift (training will be provided)

 

 

The following are minimum qualifications related to the Handy Person/Driver position:

  • You must have a Full UK clean driving license and should ideally have some previous relevant experience of working in a similar environment/role. 
  • Experience working with hand tools and power tools. 
  • A Forklift qualification (this is not essential as training will be provided for the successful candidate.)
  • Ability to work as part of a collaborative team as well as being motivated to work alone depending on the task at hand.
