Job Overview
BASIC SUMMARY:
Performs QC and coordinates all study-related activities of technical staff to ensure compliance with the protocol and applicable SOPs and maintains the raw data for nonclinical studies.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Performs reviews of all study-related data, including online blood collection QC, and logbooks generated by clinical pathology.
• Displays competency in creating generalized study related paperwork on an as needed basis.
• Monitors clinical pathology operations, scientific projects, and the conduct of procedures in accordance with the study protocol, and applicable SOPs.
• Creates barcoded storage boxes for samples, performs sample discard and archives samples.
• Responsible for the preparation of study notebooks and organization of study data.
• Handles shipping of all study-related specimens.
• This position is considered an administrative/technical position. Core skills will be completed, and technical activities will be performed as needed.
• Participate in the team meetings.
• Coordinate ordering of study equipment and supplies.
• Perform all other related duties as assigned.
The pay for this position is $25.00/hr. Please note that salaries vary within the range based on factors including, but not limited to, experience, skills, education, certifications, and location.
Job Description
QUALIFICATIONS:
• Education: High school diploma / General Education Degree (G.E.D.) required. Associate's degree (A.A./A.S.) preferred or equivalent in related scientific discipline.
• Experience: 2 years of related experience in a GLP environment. Experience with research, investigative procedures, techniques, literature, documentation, and analysis within the clinical pathology field.
• An equivalent combination of education and experience may be accepted as a satisfactory substitute for the specific education and experience listed above.
• Certification Licensure: N/A
• Other: Ability to organize, prioritize work and meet deadlines. Computer literacy with word processing, spreadsheet, and data base programs.
Must be authorized to work in United States without a sponsor visa now or in the future.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
• While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk, hear, and type at a computer.
• Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and the ability to adjust focus.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
• While performing the duties of this job, the employee occasionally wears protective clothing (goggles, face shield, surgical mask, cap, gloves, scrubs, boots).
• Occasionally works with biohazards and sharps.
• Occasionally works with live animal specimens) with risk of exposure to allergens and/or zoonotic diseases.
• While performing the duties of this job the employee is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles, unpleasant odors, and wet, humid and/or extreme temperature conditions.
